how to use :: uploading projects

Project originators, such as architects and engineers who wish to list projects on the AEPlans™ website, are provided with a complete software solution to assemble and upload the information needed. The software is provided free of charge and makes assembling the project documents a simple task.

This software assembles the project documents and information into a local file structure. This local file structure is transferred to the AEPlans web site when the user is ready to list the project.

Assembly is basically a two-step process:

    • Plan documents are converted from their original CAD structure into a read-only raster file structure using a special output facility
    • Plan files are then assembled along with specifications (either in the same raster file or other text file structure) into a project file structure, with key information such as bidders, bid date, etc.

Once assembled, the project file can be upload to the AEPlans web site by the selection of a single keystroke.

This file structure acts as a local backup and can be updated with later addenda (which are automatically uploaded to AEPlans in a similar manner.) Upon completion the entire file can be copied to a CD for archival of the project. A step-by-step instruction guide on how to assemble and upload project information is provided.
